The Gregory County Development Corporation is comprised of a nine-person board of volunteers who are actively involved in the economic development of Gregory County as a whole.  Additionally, three of our communities--Gregory, Burke and Bonesteel--have local economic development boards.  Together, these groups take an active role in attracting new businesses to the area.  Each local development corporation offers low interest loans for start-up businesses as well as business expansion for existing companies, and the county-wide development group provides gap financing for projects.

Agriculture and recreation--including hunting--are Gregory County's consistent top economic engines.  Work is underway to develop Wind Energy in Gregory County.
The most recent addition to our business community is Rancher's Welding, located along Highway 18 in Gregory.
